Associate Director SRITNE

Job Purpose:

Contribute to the centre’s vision and strategy, drive research initiatives and educational programs with government and industry, and manage the general administration of the centre.

 

Job Outline:

At ISB, SRITNE plays a key role in driving research and education related to issues of technology adoption, exploitation and management. Key focus areas of the centre include data analytics, digital transformation of firms and governments, technology innovation and entrepreneurship, and technology products and the IT/ ITeS industry. The jobholder, as Associate Director – SRITNE, will report to the Executive Director and perform a set of key responsibilities that drive faculty-driven research in these focus areas alongside effective administration of operations of the center.  

 

The jobholder needs to set a vision and strategic plan for the growth & development of the center in consultation with the Executive Director. S/he needs to ensure alignment of center goals with ISB’s strategy and further the center’s goals of driving impactful relevant research that advances our understanding of the impacts of technology. Examples of research ongoing at the centre include use of high-resolution, high-frequency data to nowcast economic activity, digital and entrepreneurial literacy initiatives for rural India, regulation efforts for the digital economy, assessment of constraints and enablers of digital innovation in large firms, amongst others. The jobholder needs to oversee the resource and capability plan for these research projects, including hiring research associates and enabling their assimilation into the ISB culture. S/he needs to liaison and build partnerships with companies, government bodies, and industry associations to further opportunities for research and research-backed educational programs. The job holder needs to periodically review progress and eliminate bottlenecks in the implementation of research programs. S/he needs to oversee conferences, workshops and other events that help with the dissemination of the centre’s research.

 

The jobholder needs to work with the Finance team to review quarterly budgets. S/he needs to coordinate with the Communication team to highlight SRITNE’s achievements and build awareness about the centre through publications - quarterly newsletters, in-house magazines such as ISB Insight, business journals and popular media. The incumbent needs to interact with other centers to identify the possible areas for collaboration. Further s/he needs to also interact with the statutory auditors and partners from the audit firm to respond to queries and provide books of accounts.

 

Candidate Profile:

 

Experience:

5-7 years of experience in the focus areas of the centre - data analytics, digital transformation programs, technology innovation and entrepreneurship, and technology products and the IT/ ITeS industry

Experience in technology consulting, technology research, or solutioning is especially valuable

 

Education:

Post-Graduation/ MBA from Tier-1 B-schools.

 

Specific Skills:  Experience in research and critical/ analytical problem solving would be very valuable. As would be experience working in a high-growth, dynamic environment. Candidate must be motivated and given to taking initiative. Other skills required include business planning and budgeting, basic financial analysis, interpersonal skills, and leadership and negotiation skills. Superior written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
