India would be assuming G-20 Presidency from 1st December 2022. In this context, Indian School of Business would work as a knowledge partner to the Department of Commerce on issues pertaining to Global Value Chains (GVCs). ISB is responsible for developing concept notes, working papers, background papers, and presentations.
ISB is looking for motivated candidates to work as Research Associate (RA) on the ISB@G20 project for a duration of 16 months. Ideal candidates should possess strong analytical, quantitative capabilities, as well as a good understanding of international trade and global supply chains. RAs on this project will report to the Program Lead Economist and Heads namely Professor Shekhar Tomar and Professor Apoorva Javadekar. Research Associates (RA) generally go on to pursue Ph.D. in internationally renowned business schools.

There are two tracks for the position. Please indicate the track you prefer.
Track A (Market/Business/Policy): MA/MSC in Economics/Finance/International Trade/Public policy, or MBA/ PGDBM from premier institutions like IIMs.
The candidate in Track A is expected to conduct market and economic analysis and prepare reports and help the Lead economist to harvest data and generate presentable insights from the data. Read the WTO policies and make summaries, help Lead economist with the presentations of the working papers, white papers, newspaper articles.
Track B (Analytics): MA/MSC in Economics, Econometrics/Statistics, or Computer Science. B Tech from IIT, NIT or BITS (preferably in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering), or strong sciences background such as Bachelors/Master’s in Physics/Geo-Sciences/Applied Math. Fluency in some of the programming languages is necessary. Skills such as web-scraping, AI/ML are an added advantage. Candidates are expected to harvest the data, build statistical and forecasting models, read and summarize technical and academic research relevant for the program, create Map/Supply Chain Images, and track real-time data.
