There are multiple RA positions available in the Information Systems Area with Professor Abhishek Kathuria. The candidates will help conduct research at the intersection of technology and strategy. Professor Kathuria’s research interests are in the areas of digital transformation and the business value of IT, focusing on innovation, digital platform strategies, and emerging economies. Current projects include investigations of IT-related strategic decisions and firm performance, role of top management team characteristics in IT business value and innovation, and effectiveness of IT-based microcredit interventions on financial inclusion.

Position Details:

• The candidate will assist the professor in ongoing research work and in the overall development of research papers.

• Responsibilities will include preparing data (cleaning, pre-preprocessing, and managing data) and analysis of data using cross-sectional, panel, and quasi-experimental econometric methods. In addition, the candidate will assist in research related tasks including literature review and writing research papers.

• This is a full-time and fixed-term position.

• This position is an excellent option if you are looking to do a Masters degree or Ph.D. in the future. It will also be a great start for a career in data science roles.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong academic background in any of Computer Science/ Information Systems/ Statistics/ Economics/ Operations/ Mathematics/ Industrial Engineering with evidence of academic excellence

• Prior experience or training in data science/ statistics/econometrics is essential.

• Expertise in programming languages (atleast one) and/or statistical software like Python, R, or Stata is essential.

• Prior experience of working with panel datasets and running econometrics models is desirable.

• The candidate must have high standards in terms of quality of work, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and absolute commitment to task completion.

• Ability to work diligently on tasks that may be tedious but are crucial for projects.

• Demonstrated analytical, computing and communication skills.
