Research Associate with Professor Anand Vijayasankaran, Organizational Behavior Area, Indian School of Business

Position details:

ISB is looking for candidates with strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, and excellent communication skills. We seek applications from motivated individuals with a strong academic background to work as Research Associates at ISB. Research Associates (RA) generally go on to pursue Ph.D. in internationally renowned business schools after working at ISB for 2-3 years.

There is One (1) RA position available in the Organizational Behavior Area reporting to Professor Anand Vijayasankaran. The expected date of joining is July 1^st, 2022, in Hyderabad. Earlier joining dates may be considered.

The candidate will work closely with Prof. Anand Vijayasankaran and be involved in current projects in the areas of strategic leadership (including CEO dismissal, CEO compensation and CEO prominence) and social evaluations (including status, reputation, and rankings).

Specifically, the successful candidate will perform data collection, data cleaning, data analysis and early-stage writing as needed. The position is best suited for candidates who wish to pursue a PhD in the areas of strategic leadership and other areas in strategy, organization theory or economic sociology. The candidate must have a strong grasp of Python / STATA and should be able to perform exercises including scraping and testing of analytical models.

Skills and Qualifications

1) B Tech from IIT, NIT or BITS (preferably in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering) or MBA/ PGDBM from premier institutions like IIMs or other reputed institutions or Masters in Economics/Econometrics/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science

2) Exceptions may be made for candidates who are able demonstrate strong programming skills using Python/STATA if they are not from the above institutions or don’t have the above qualifications

3) Consistently high CGPA, evidence of academic excellence.

4) The candidate must have high standards in terms of quality of work, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and absolute commitment to task completion.

The position will be based in Hyderabad and the candidate is expected to work from the ISB campus in Hyderabad.
