Professor Kashish Arora:

He is an Assistant Professor at the Indian School of Business.
His research focuses on supply chain management, marketplaces, and empirical operations management. I completed my Ph.D. from Cornell's S.C. Johnson School of Management under the supervision of Vishal Gaur. He has received his B. Tech in Industrial and Production Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, M.Sc. in Management from INSEAD, and Master’s in Management from Cornell University.

About this Position:

This posting is for an RA position with Prof. Kashish Arora (Operations Management, ISB) on the broad topic of data-driven operations management. Prof. Kashish’s research builds on tools from economics, computer science, and statistics to develop data-driven solutions for problems in (i) Operations Management, and (ii) Marketplaces and Industrial Organization.

This position is an excellent option if you are looking to do a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in the future. It will also be a great start for a career in data science roles.
 

Roles & Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Preparing data (cleaning, pre-processing, and managing)  and analyzing it by developing econometric and machine learning models.
  • Scraping large-scale data.
  • Assisting the professor in research-related tasks including literature review and writing research papers.
  • Statistical and forecasting models - Read and summarize technical and academic research relevant to the program, create Map/Supply Chain Images, and track real-time data.
     

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Strong academic background in any of Computer Science/ Statistics/ Economics/Mathematics/ Industrial Engineering with demonstrated analytical and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Python and R.
  • Should enjoy programming and working with large data in distributed environments. Experience in data engineering is a plus.
  • The candidate must have high standards in terms of quality of work, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and absolute commitment to task completion.
  • Ability to work diligently on tasks that may be tedious but are crucial for projects.
  • Relevant projects in machine learning and econometrics.
  • Advanced programming skills.
