Prasanna Tantri is an Associate Professor in the Finance area and Executive Director at the Centre for Analytical Finance at ISB, Independent Director and Chair, Audit Committee, at Power Finance Corporation. He is a Member of the Expert Working Group at the National Stock Exchange and a Member of the Technical Group constituted by the Securities and Exchange Board of India. His research areas include- banking, financial inclusion, financial contagion, regulation, and the relationship between politics and finance. He teaches a course on Indian financial systems.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Centre for Analytical Finance (CAF) at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, is looking for Research Associate in Finance.

The total length of this role at CAF does not exceed 2 years. You are expected to proceed to higher degree programmes in two years or sooner. The exact period can be mutually negotiated.


You will:

·       You will receive training in finance and econometrics, develop a solid grounding in theoretical and applied finance, and work on various research projects.

·       The training and skills gained enable the candidates to contribute to high-quality finance research projects, usually in association with faculty.

·       The researchers are required to help with other CAF activities, including the organization of research databases, conferences and workshops.

·       Assisting in their ongoing research work which includes the development of analytical models, solution algorithms, and designing of computational experiments.

·       Scraping data from websites or documents and compilation into usable formats for analysis. 

·       Linking different datasets, ensuring data quality, and processing raw data into processed datasets for modelling and estimation.  

• Using cross-sectional and panel econometric methods, literature review, and assisting in paper writing.

·       Conduct market and economic analysis and prepare reports to harvest data and generate presentable insights from the data.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Qualifications:

·       A Graduate from a top program with a high CGPA. Evidence of academic excellence.

·       Master’s level degree from Top institutions in India and abroad with a good academic record in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or computer science. Other quantitative fields may also apply.

Skills:

·       A strong interest in finance.

·       A strong interest in a research career.

·       Outstanding academic records with excellent analytical and computing skills.

·       Proficiency in the use of statistical packages such as C++, SAS, STATA, MatLab, etc. is highly desirable.

·       Proficiency in Econometrics is preferred

·        1-3 years of hands-on experience is preferred
