Job Purpose

Responsible for running surveys for data collection, and support the team in other research activities

 

Job Outline

The Research Analyst (Field) position requires significant training in quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques and support in subsequent analysis of the collected data. The holder of this position is involved in tuberculosis (TB) care related projects.

The Research Analyst (Field) will (i) collect and organize data, (ii) create and protect databases and confidential information, (iii) help in designing qualitative and quantitative surveys, (iv) help conduct analyses of collected data, and (v) assist in writing reports and present findings to different stakeholders.

About the project:

A randomized control trial funded by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to study the impact of monitoring methods using digital technologies, such as 99DOTS, MERM and Refill Monitoring on TB treatment. The primary objective is to study how these monitoring methods impact the patient’s adherence and clinical outcomes. The trial will involve implementation of specific interventions, collection of primary data (surveys and interviews) as well as secondary programmatic data, which will then be analyzed to estimate the impact of the interventions. Additionally, qualitative studies will be conducted to understand the behavioral mechanisms driving the impact.

1.    Master’s degree in management, operations,  economics, public health, epidemiology, public policy

2.    Graduates from other disciplines may also be considered if they have relevant experience and can demonstrate the relevant skills

 

 

1.    Excellent verbal and written communication skills in (1) English, (2) Hindi or Gujarati

2.    Carry out research activities and maintain high quality and integrity of work process and results 

3.    Responsive to mentorship to produce high-quality outputs in the defined timeframe 

4.    Willingness to travel within study sites

1.    Experience in the field including survey design and implementation is desirable

2.    Experience in health systems costing, healthcare supply chain, ICT and healthcare will receive strong preference

Fieldwork

a)    Run quantitative and qualitative surveys (semi-structured and structured interviews, and focused group discussions) which include (i) questionnaire design, (ii) sampling and (iii) survey administration in healthcare costing, time-and-motion and health behaviour studies.
