Job Purpose

Max Institute of Healthcare Management is looking for a full-time research analyst with expertise in the following areas: (i) International Public Policy, (ii) Health Economics, (iii) Public Health and Health Systems. Prior experience in R&D policy, especially focused on pharmaceuticals is preferred.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for following activities: (i) conducting secondary research of academic as well as policy/practitioner literature, (ii) interviewing stakeholders, (iii) writing reports and white papers, (iv) drafting policy briefs.

 

Job Outline

 

The analyst will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of ISB faculty members (Prof. Deepak Jena from Strategy and Prof. Parshuram Hotkar and Prof. Sarang Deo from Operations Management).

 

The analyst will lead the review of reports, research articles, whitepapers, and datasets to assess the prevalence of Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in India. In addition, the analyst will assist in identifying and interviewing the key stakeholders relevant to AMR situation from various sectors including government agencies (state and national level), pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers and policy organizations. A key part of the job will involve writing policy briefs, white papers and executive summary reports on AMR situation in India.

 

 

About the project:

 

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is positioned to become a major public health issue in India in the coming years. India is one of the largest markets for antibiotics with the sale of antibiotics growing rapidly. India also carries one of the largest burdens of drug-resistant pathogens worldwide.

 

The objective of this project is to understand the extent of the AMR prevalence in India and identify solutions that can balance incentives for pharmaceutical firms to register these new antimicrobial drugs in India while also reducing misuse/overuse of existing as well as new drugs.

Bachelor’s/ Master’s in international public policy, economics, international relations, public health, health policy from reputed university with good academic credentials.

 

 

 

 

 

1.    Independently carry out research activities and maintain high quality and integrity of work, attention to detail, ability to multitask and commitment to task completion.

 

2.    Excellent communication skills (oral and written) are critical. Evidence of prior writings – report, blogs, manuscript etc., is required

 

1.    Familiarity with public health policy, R&D policy, pharmaceutical markets

 

2.    Prior work experience in policy thinktanks and multidisciplinary research environment
