Thomas Schmidheiny Centre for Family Enterprise at the Indian School of Business seeks to advance real-world and academic knowledge of family business. The Centre wants to recruit promising young candidates with an aspiration to pursue a career in research and academics.

We seek applications from motivated individuals with a strong academic background to work on a research program with Professors Abhishek Kathuria and Sougata Ray. The candidates will help conduct research at the intersection of technology and strategy, focusing on the Digital Transformation of Family Businesses. The research program will investigate how family owners, management teams, and firm characteristics influence strategic decisions related to the digital transformation of family businesses, and the innovation and business value implications of digital transformation of family businesses.

Position details:

· The candidate will assist the professors in research work and in the overall development of research papers.

· Responsibilities will include preparing data (cleaning, pre-processing, and managing data) and data analysis using cross-sectional, panel, and quasi-experimental econometric methods. In addition, the candidate will assist in research-related tasks, including literature review and writing research papers.

· This is a full-time and fixed-term position.

· This position is an excellent option if you are looking to do a Masters degree or Ph.D. in the future. It will also be a great start for a career in data science roles.

· The preferred joining date is at the earliest.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

· A strong interest in a research career.

· Strong academic background in any of Computer Science/ Information Systems/ Statistics/ Economics/ Operations/ Mathematics/ Industrial Engineering with evidence of academic excellence.

· Prior experience or training in econometrics/statistics is essential.

· Expertise in programming languages (at least one) and/or statistical software like Python, R, or Stata is essential.

· Prior experience in working with panel datasets and running panel econometrics models is desirable.

· The candidate must have high standards in terms of quality of work, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and absolute commitment to task completion.

· Ability to work diligently on tasks that may be tedious but are crucial for projects.

· Demonstrated analytical, computing, and communication skills.
