Job Purpose

Engage and support ED of IIDS on administrative activities of various research programmes, grants, develop a focused research agenda in line with IIDS’s research aspirations and steer IIDS’s outreach efforts.

 

Job Outline

A.   The job holder has to lead comprehensive strategy development for increasing the engagement of public and private sectors with IIDS.

B.   The incumbent is expected to focus on obtaining grants and projects for IIDS and execute them.

§ Support the Executive Director in managing the administrative activities of the ongoing research projects/programmes at IIDS and manage the planning and delivery of programmes (research partnerships, fellowships, conferences, etc.)

§ Support the Executive Director in hiring, mentoring and building of both research and academic staff at IIDS

§ As leader in the experiential learning, global engagement and interdisciplinary research, Mentor and Guide Experiential Learning Project/Practicum courses for the IIDS

§ On time, efficient and smooth handling of research projects.

§ Effective mentoring of research and academic staff.

§ Error free execution of IIDS courses.

Research engagement

§ Develop Research Agenda consisting of multiple applied research themes on data science in consultation with the Executive Director. Prepare proposals for research grant and conduct multi-disciplinary Applied Research

§ Contribute to Thought Leadership through identifying opportunities for developing case studies, teaching notes and other intellectual outputs. Manage the publication of in-house newsletters and other publications in consultation with the Executive Director

§ Efficient and effective reports/proposals preparation.

§ Increased research visibility to IIDS internal/external to school.

Outreach activities

§ Engage with government, civil society, and industry leaders through seminars, workshops and conferences to disseminate research and help identify new research and collaborative opportunities.

§ Develop and maintain required internal and external relationships and engage in collaborative work with faculty and scholars within and outside ISB, data science professionals, and other relevant individuals and organizations in consultation with Executive Director.
