Job Purpose

Actively work with the Executive Director in achieving the research, publication, outreach and practice impact goals of the Centre

 

Job Outline

  • Developing a Research Agenda consisting of multiple research themes on family business in consultation with Executive Director
  • Managing collaborative research projects with external organisations
  • Designing and formulating strategy for conferences, workshops, round tables, short duration training programmes and AMPs to be offered by the Centre
  • Coordinating and actively contributing to overall delivery of all types of practice impact programmes offered by the Centre
  • Conceiving and taking up research projects in an individual capacity wherever appropriate
  • Leading a team of researchers to build a research database and undertake empirical research
  • Planning, guiding, and monitoring the activities of the team of researchers and preparing them for PhD programmes
  • Independently working with leading researchers in the area of family businesses.
  • Preparing research papers for high quality academic and practice journals and other publications
  • Preparing White Papers and Monographs based on empirical research
  • Identifying opportunities for developing case studies and preparing cases and teaching notes
  • Identifying opportunities for offering short duration programs, forming partnerships to offer the programs (if required), developing the content, and assisting the Executive Director with delivery of the same.
  • Participating in and Organizing workshops and conferences to disseminate research findings
  • Coordinating with the Executive Director and building the team of academics and non-academics at the Centre and its external network
  • Identifying and interviewing family business stakeholders, and finalizing content for the Family Enterprise Quarterly of the Centre
  • Establishing and maintaining required internal and external relationships and engaging in collaborative work with faculty and scholars within and outside ISB, family business professionals, and other relevant individuals and organizations in consultation with Executive Director
  • Build a network of family business clubs / associations across India as nodal points of the Centre

 

Job Specification

Knowledge:

Qualification

  • A PhD. with relevant research and practice impact experiences
  • Academic experience in the area of family business will be preferred.
  • Proven high quality research capabilities using different methodologies to lead research teams
  • Strong proven people skills
  • Ability to spot opportunities and take initiatives independently
  • Proven leadership qualities
  • Proven experience in research, publications, and case writing
  • Strong connections with the family business stakeholders

Skills:

Technical

Strong organizing and writing skills, knowledge of databases, softwares such as SAS, STATA, MAXQDA, etc. and Social Media handling

Behavioural

Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task, ability to build meaningful relationships, ability to work well with team. 

Experience:

15+ years of academic and family business practice experience
