The Office of Advancement at the Indian School of Business engages with the school’s alumni, private corporations, foundations, and individuals to further the cause of advancement by soliciting funding for the student’s scholarships, faculty, research, school’s infrastructure, and the upcoming initiatives of the school, etc.
 

About the position

ISB is seeking applications for Associate Director - Annual Giving at the Office of Advancement. The position holder will be responsible for designing, developing, and leading the annual giving programme at ISB. The position holder will strategize and execute year-round solicitations and campaigns targeted at receiving annual giving for the school. They must possess strong communication and strategy skills and be uncompromisingly committed to quality and ownership of outcomes and results. The work location for this position will be at the Mohali Campus of the ISB.
 

Key responsibilities for this position

  • Strategy and design of annual giving programme: Creating a well-researched, tailored, and robust annual giving programme, including fundraising strategies to launch various giving opportunities
  • Outreach design and execution: Designing and executing the outreach activities pertaining to the annual giving programme, including outreach to the alumni, facilitating the creation of the campaign’s collaterals and other relevant communication materials, developing a schedule and marketing plan for donor acquisitions, and renewals
  • Creation of communication strategies: Developing communication strategies for internal and external audiences. This will include aspects such as editing content for the website and social media platforms
  • Portfolio management: Preparing and analyzing fundraising and donor reports to inform goal setting, identify trends, and evaluate performance for solicitation and engagement activities, making recommendations for strategic programmatic changes as necessary. Managing a portfolio of annual giving prospects and helping qualify prospective donors.
  • Event management and participation: Planning and coordinating events for the annual giving programme; participating in any other institutional advancement activities and events
  • Co-ordination with ISB’s departments: Closely collaborate with faculty, research centres and other departments and stakeholders of ISB for a successful campaign
  • Contact point for queries: Serving as the contact for questions and queries regarding the annual giving programme
  • Securing the annual giving target
     

Candidate profile

Ideal candidates will have a keen interest in fundraising and outstanding oral and written communication, strategy, and stakeholder management skills. They also must have demonstrated resilience and perseverance in their prior assignments.
 

Desired education and experience

  • Working knowledge of fundraising, alumni relations, donor stewardship
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, including acumen to convey information effectively verbally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience; active listening skills; the ability to persuade others; and to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the campus and with external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational, analytical, project management, and critical thinking skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, exercise good judgment, and work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Good to have: 8-10 years of relevant experience in fundraising, donor management, sales, or in any other related field along with a bachelor’s degree
  • Good to have: A prior background of having worked for top educational institutions/non-profit organisations
