This position will be responsible for building thriving online learning platforms that further the Indian School of Business’ evolution as a leading 21st century global educational institution.



Job Outline


The Director of Learning Platforms is a senior leadership role that reports directly to the Deputy Dean of Digital Learning and Executive Education.


The Director will lead the technology design and development of ISB’s online learning platform(s). This responsibility includes overseeing coordination with the internal digital transformation team as well as third-party vendors for platform development; identifying and validating various stages of product definition and management; and overseeing platform analytics for market insights into platform adoption and evolution. S(he) will be particularly skilled at creating, articulating, and influencing customer influenced platform strategy.


The Director of Learning Platforms will possess the combination of technical and research acumen needed to drive rich learning experiences on the platform. S(he) will lead a team of learning engineers and researchers as well as content designers and developers to continually measure and improve learning experiences on the platform. S(he) will be responsible for the development of sophisticated analytical models that not only improve user experience but also power the development of new learning products and solutions.


The Director will have a keen sense of educational technologies and a pulse on marketplace trends in face-to-face, remote, and blended learning as well as student services, and traditional and nontraditional competitive offerings in these areas. S(he) will be responsible for horizon scanning, trialing, and evaluating new technologies and pedagogies that highlight and strengthen significant teaching experiences for faculty as well as student learning, engagement and success.


The Director will lead a team of platform operations engineers, responsible for: supporting and maintaining platform services, maintaining and monitoring data pipelines, responding to business and user-reported platform issues and incidents, being proactive in an agile working environment, and architecting and administering the technology infrastructure, including cloud systems, that support the platform.


The Director will be accountable for developing and executing a multi-year platform roadmap across internal stakeholders as well as client segments. S(he) will work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders in the school to forge an effective strategic approach and its implementation.

MBA / Master’s or Doctorate in Education

1.    Research and design of online learning experiences for diverse learner groups. Including defining learning objectives that align with business priorities, architecting and building curricula, and delivering and measuring impact.

2.    Rich experience in building firm-wide digital, analytics and design capabilities.

3.    Teaching experience in professional development programs or long-term degree programs is valuable

4.    Creative, persuasive, tactful, and capable of coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

5.    Demonstrated result orientation and project management capabilities required to manage multiple tasks under stiff deadlines.

6.    Must have strong management experience needed to lead both a large team and work in a fast-paced, high performing environment.

7.    Must possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills as well as demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.

8.    Must have experience with managing P&Ls

9.    Technology talent management.

15+ years’ experience with proven success leading design and development of online educational solutions and learning models, especially in a professional EdTech company or consulting organization or research-intensive/ teaching-focused higher education institution, is strongly preferred.
