Job Purpose

To manage the activities related to LRC information technology-associated tasks - Library Management Systems, Library Portals, Library Servers, and extending support to overall LRC function.

 

Job Outline

  • At ISB, the Learning and Resource Center (LRC) provides all stakeholders with the required information or knowledge on various topics.  The Centre provides necessary readings and materials used in multiple courses and programs offered by the ISB in strict adherence to the copyright policy.   The Center provides seamless access to knowledge resources in a hybrid format, including books, journals, databases, and other resources – “anywhere, anytime.”
  • The Job holder as Manager reports to the Director and performs critical activities related to Circulation Management Systems. S/he must maintain and manage the patron account and announce the staff counter duty well in advance. The position requires operating hassle-free circulation-related activities following standard procedures. S/he will also address the regular and scheduled VTLS - Library Management Systems backup and maintenance & troubleshooting in coordination with the IT Team/respective vendors.   The incumbent is expected to support new tasks related to information technology, including implementing new LMS, managing the web portals and library servers, and designing and developing portals for offering customized info products for various segments of users.
  • The role is required to support faculty and researchers in their research activities besides managing the LRC’s everyday activities – circulation – check-in/checkout, renewal, reminders, and other assigned works. Besides, they also assist users by providing relevant information, answering their queries, and guiding them in finding relevant sources - books and other reading materials based on their information needs.   S/he needs to contribute relevant content for various customized info products based on the information needs of the user groups.
  • The role also involves guiding the team in day-to-day activities to ensure flawless and neat execution of the work by the team meeting the set timelines.
  • This position always needs to engage with the student representatives and other key stakeholders to take appropriate actions based on input received from user groups to maintain LRC service level standards high with the consultation of the Director - LRC.
  • The role includes leading the team to collect peer review data for ISB faculty and promptly share it with the FD team.

Flexible working hours – Required to work in a shift system on a rotation basis as the Centre operates 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 a.m. on all days and 24x7 based on the demand from the user groups during the mid and end-term examinations.
