Research Associate with Executive Education

ISB is looking for candidates interested in carrying out research in the area of organisational behaviour. The selected candidate will work on projects aiming to understand and quantify effective leadership in private and public organisations. You should have strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, and, excellent communication skills. We seek applications from motivated individuals with a strong academic background to work as Research Associates at ISB. Research Associates (RA) generally go on to pursue a Ph.D. in internationally renowned schools of management, or public policy after working at ISB for about 2-3 years.

 

Your primary tasks will be

·       Preparation of research proposals

·       Reviewing and summarising the relevant literature

·       Organising, cleaning, documenting the data and preparing visual and tabular summaries

·       Data analysis using econometric tools and report generation

·       Drafting of project reports

 

Primary data collection through surveys will be an essential part of this project and in addition to the above you will also spend some time

 

·       Cordinating and collaborating with faculty members and other staff members

·       Coordinating with and managing the data collection agency

 

The position is best suited for a candidate with an interest in pursuing a PhD in management within the next few years.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

 

B.Tech from a top-tier engineering college

or

Master’s degree in Economics/Statistics/Applied Psychology or related discipline from a top-tier institute

 

Demonstrable quantitative ability and (verbal and written) communication skills are essential. The ability to credibly signal an interest in the project area will be an added advantage.

 

The following skills are important

 

·       Database management: Linking different datasets, ensuring data quality, processing raw datainto processed datasets for modelling and estimation.

·       Synthesis: Literature search and review, summary, presentation, and analytical writing

·       Quantitative modelling: Econometric analysis for exploratory data analysis and causal estimation, including visualisation and reporting

·       Excellent problem-solving skills

·       Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

In addition to this high standards in terms of quality of work, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and commitment to task completion are required for the job. The willingness to read and learn from new research material is also critical.
