Summary of Responsibilities                        

The Skills Lab at ISB is looking for an exceptional instructional designer to create and continuously improve learning programs using an array of creative approaches. The role requires an individual who can innovate, move quickly, and be able to produce quality courses.

Specific responsibilities will include:

·       Create engaging and compelling course content, using adult learning principles that enhance retention and knowledge transfer.

·       Work with subject matter experts to design course outlines and review courses.

·       Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product

·       Apply tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods

·       Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process

·       Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, assessments etc.)

·       Develop assessments that measure learner outcomes.

·       Decide on the criteria used to evaluate and develop assessment instruments

·       Use appropriate tools and delivery methods to produce asynchronous learning materials.

·       Continually evaluate solutions for quality, business, and content scalability.

·       Keep abreast with knowledge of new learning approaches, technology, and tools.

·       Maintain project documentation and course folders.

 Qualifications and Experience (Mandatory)

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Educational Tech, Instructional Design, Mass Communication, or Journalism
  • Experience:
    • At least 10 - 12 years’ experience in instructional design, distance learning or blended learning
    • 5+ years’ experience conducting quality reviews of instructional materials.
    • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following tools: Articulate Storyline, Captivate, and Camtasia
    • Demonstrated experience in communicating concepts and processes using clear, simple language and visuals

 Qualifications and Experience (Desired)

  • Degree or experience in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or a related field
  • Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate.
  • Experience with LMS architecture and deployment within asynchronous learning environment
