Punjab schools seem to set out an example for others to learn from

Aarushi Jain, Policy Director, Bharti Institute of Public Policy at ISB, highlights that Punjab School Education Department has been at the forefront of ushering in some pioneering initiatives to improve its education indicators.  

Here’s an excerpt from her opinion piece in ET Government: “India’s development strategy has long focused on quantity (increasing the literacy rates, reducing dropouts, increasing enrolments etc.) but what is required now is a clear mandate on improving the quality of education in the country. The New Education Policy shows a direction, but a lot of flesh is required to be added as we tread the path of implementing NEP”.
