Associate Director - Bharti Institute of Public Policy
Aarushi Jain has wide experience and expertise in the Public Policy domain as a faculty, administrator as well as a project specialist. She is currently working as the Associate Director of Bharti Institute of Public Policy, Indian School of Business. She is Ph.D (Pub Admn), Double Post Graduate (Pub Admn and HR), UGC-NET/JRF/SRF and an Accredited Management Teacher (AMT) in Public Policy. She has been a visiting scholar at Duke University, USA.
She has previously worked as Chairman, Rural Development and CSR, International Chamber of Service Industry and at various institutions including the National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, Indus International University and Himachal Consultancy Organization etc. She is a visiting faculty to various premier institutions including NCGG, LBSNAA, HIPA, IGNFA, IIAS, NACIN etc. She has had a long association with National Centre for Good Governance, LBSNAA, Mussourie, for research studies as state coordinator for Punjab and Himachal.
Dr. Jain has published a book on “Public Private Partnership and Corporate Social Responsibility” and has more than 40 publications in leading international and national journals. Her research interests include Public Policy and Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Rural Development, Education and Women and Girl Child issues. She has been a national level table tennis player and an international level quiz wizard. Dr Aarushi Jain takes keen interest in social work. Being the President of Redcross HWS in various districts of Himachal Pradesh,
she has worked extensively on social issues as women empowerment, save the girl child campaign, health and education etc. She has been honoured and acclaimed for her efforts on various occasions, both at the state and national level.
Visiting Associate Professor and Senior Research Fellow - Bharti Institute of Public Policy
Apurva holds a Masters degree in Natural Resources and Governance from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and has been associated with ISB as a Research Associate (RA) since the last one year. She has been actively working on Forest related datasets and currently is a part of the Forest Governance team. She has played an instrumental role in- Setting up of Socio-Ecological Monitoring System, Project Monitoring System and CFR.
Her work at IDP is to make the content available in a regional language (Telugu) and help in making visualizations for social media channels.
Arun Murli C M holds a master’s degree in Geoinformatics from TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi. He worked on multiple research projects as research intern, which involved intensive data handling and analysis. He joined Indian School of Business (ISB) as a Research Associate and is currently working with forest governance and India Data Portal (IDP) teams.
On IDP he works on compiling data for the high-frequency indicators (HFIs) and also assists in the training of the HFI.
Karishma is currently working as a Project Associate at Bharti Institute of Public Policy. She is a CFA level III candidate and has a bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance from the Singapore Institute of Management.
She has worked for more than 2 years as an Account Manager at Zomato Media Pvt Limited and in the Transaction Advisory department at Grant Thornton LLP.
Her role is to manage the operations, budget and logistics, overall coordination with external vendors and within the team. Support on social media and outreach activities for IDP.
Apart from work, she likes to read, watch sitcoms and travel. She also plays football, tennis and golf.
Leela has worked in multiple projects for over 26 years and has been associated with various State Governments, NIRDPR and UNDP. She worked as a visiting fellow at NIRDPR for more than 4 years and as Director of Social Audit Unit of Chhattisgarh. She also developed the SDG roadmap for Gujarat and Uttarakhand states when she was with UNDP and gained vast experience in conducting workshops and training besides research, monitoring, and evaluation of poverty alleviation programs. She is capable of developing networks of organizations for effective implementation of various policies. She did her Postgraduation in agriculture sciences and Ph.D in Rural Development. At present, she is working as a Project Specialist in the Tenure Facility project.
Madhulika is responsible for data management of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) data on the India Data Portal (IDP). She also works with the Agriculture-related datasets hosted on IDP.
Nidhi Kalani, on the surface, is a graduate of Physical Planning course from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi and is associated with Bharti Institute of Public Policy as a Research Associate. Before joining the institute, she has worked as an intern in HUDCO's HSMI, New Delhi and Urban Development and Housing Department, Namchi(Sikkim). During the course of her professional career, she has also written a research paper in association with her other team member in HSMI. She likes writing for professional magazines/ journals and create research-oriented info-graphics. As a professional, she likes to learn about spatial planning and policies affecting it. Other than learning new software and technologies, in her free time, she likes to watch TV-series and Harry Potter movies.
Her role is to collate, process, and analyze open-source datasets on various themes to make them visualization ready for the portal.
She has joined ISB as a Content Developer at Mohali. She has worked as a Graphics Designer for 11 years. Her experience incorporated blending a myriad of typography, animation, audio, video and graphic designing techniques. She has also conducted sessions on multimedia software for international batches. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (painting stream) and Post Graduate Diploma in Animation & Multimedia from C-DAC Mohali. Also, She is Post Graduate in English from Panjab University.
Her hobbies are lying in the area of design, photography and music. She is very much fond of music, dance and sports activities and have participated in a number of cultural programs during academic & job career.

Vipul graduated with a master’s degree in Forestry from Forest Research Institute, Dehradun. His broad research interest is in applications of Remote Sensing & GIS in Agriculture & Forestry, Climate Change & Forests, and Forest-based livelihoods. Prior to joining Forest Governance team, he worked with Rythu Sadhikara Samstha, Government of Andhra Pradesh as Young Professional with the project Climate Resilient Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF). He also has two post-Masters Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun and in Rural Development Management from National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Hyderabad.
His role is to explore, analyze and make visualizations from the open source datasets on IDP with special interest on Agriculture related datasets.
