Ashwini Chhatre is an Associate Professor of Public Policy at the ISB.  As the Academic Director of the Bharti Institute, Prof. Chhatre is responsible for identifying research priorities and setting the overall direction of the institute. His research interests broadly centre on the interactions between democratisation, economic development, and environmental governance.

Dr Aarushi Jain has 17 years of experience as an Administrator, Faculty and Project Head. As the Associate Director, she leads the education, research and outreach activities at the Bharti Institute of Public Policy, Indian School of Business, and is the coordinator of the Advanced Management Programme in Public Policy.

Dr. Avik Sarkar is Faculty at Indian School of Business working in the areas of Data, Emerging Technology and Public Policy. Dr. Avik Sarkar was the former Head of Data Analytics Cell and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India Aayog) premier policy think-tank of Government of India.  At NITI Aayog, Dr. Sarkar helped in  developing roadmap for use of data, analytics and artificial intelligence for Governance, Policy making across various sectors for India's inclusive growth and led efforts towards setting up the first High Performance Computing based Data Analytics Lab and Energy Modeling Unit at NITI Aayog.

Data Scientist

With a degree in Computer Science and Technology Engineering from IIEST, Shibpur, Agnidhra has worked as a data scientist for Mu Sigma and TCG Digital and had also served as a Probationary Officer in the State Bank of India. However, he switched back to data analytics after becoming a Deputy Manager at SBI. From building an early warning fraud detection system for an insurance giant to building a platform to help pharma companies identify patient matches for clinical trials, Agnidhra has worked mainly using Machine Learning in Python, and SQL and Excel for exploratory data analysis. Apart from work, he enjoys reading fantasy and sci-fi books, playing video games, and watching stand-up comedy.

Before joining the Bharti Institute, Amrita was working as a Senior Academic Associate (Teaching Assistant) in ISB for the Management and Executive Programmes. Her previous association with the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, as an intern, had introduced and equipped her to research areas of finance and accounting. Amrita's interests are in the areas of Corporate Governance, Initial Public Offerings, Financial Modelling and Investment research, Financial Analysis and Valuation. She holds an MBA in Finance from the School of Management, KIIT University. When out of office, she likes to play tunes on her Sitar, and have also been an avid photographer, capturing wildlife and nature.

Anjali completed her Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Hons.) from M.C.M. DAV College, Chandigarh, and Master’s degree in Economics from the Department of Economics, Panjab University. She then went on to pursue Bachelor’s degree in Education from Chitkara University. She joined ISB as a Human Resources professional and served in the capacity for two years, before aligning with the Bharti Institute as a Project Associate. In her previous work experience as an HR, she was responsible for onboarding new members, managing employee engagement events, database management and induction programmes. For her hobbies, she is passionate about writing and has an immense interest in composing poems. She also loves reading books in her free time and some binge watching.

Sr Content Developer

With a Bachelor’s degree in English from Panjab University, and a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Guru Jambeshwar University, Avantika has worked with Rediffusion as a filmmaker; Creative Director in a Media Education institute; Content Developer for a Canadian company, and as Language Learning Specialist creating blended learning softwares for government and private stakeholders. Having studied film and television direction from New York Film Academy, London, and Whistling Woods International, Mumbai, she learnt the nuances of Screenwriting from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London, and of Cinematography from the Asian Academy of Film and T.V., Noida. She had also been associated with several Punjabi and Hindi feature films as an Assistant Director. Avantika enjoys travelling and singing, apart from psychology, which she has pursued for five years with enthusiasm.

Danish holds a graduation degree in Interior Designing from Pacific Academy of Higher Education and Research, and a Master's degree in Economics from Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. Before joining ISB, he had worked as a consultant in Department of Planning, Government of Rajasthan where he helped creating rural development index to measure overall socio-demographic performance at Panchayat level. He also co-founded and led the R&D division of a Bangalore-based start-up and had also worked with NGO Seva Mandir as Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to supervise forest data and GIS mapping of forest land in southern Udaipur. He is a certified GIS Analyst (Health and Urban GIS) from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun. Apart from work, he is mostly indulged in stock market analysis, metaphysics, astrology-astronomy, solo trips to mountains, and riding bikes.

Senior Consultant

Deepti Soni is Senior Consultant at the Bharti Institute of Public Policy (BIPP) at the Indian School of Business, Mohali. She has a post graduate in Advertising and Public Relations from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi. With over 20 years of professional experience, her earlier assignments include Spokesperson and Head of Communications at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegation covering India, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives; Head of Digital Diplomacy and Media and Communications Adviser at the British High Commission in New Delhi. Deepti loves movies, food, travelling and outdoor activities.

Sr. Data Scientist

Gursharan is an experienced Programmer and a Data Professional holding a Master's degree in Information Technology. Prior to ISB, he has worked as a Team Lead and Manager in the AI Department of NetSmartz, Chandigarh. He has worked in a wide variety of roles in the software industry, healthcare and taxation domain. A large portion of his work revolved around developing data-oriented solutions with involvement in the application's full-stack (front-end & back-end). He is good at Data modeling, Architecting python backends, Data Management (ETL), Data Wrangling, Planning & Execution of AI solutions. The specific fields of AI which he has worked in are Predictive Analytics, Forecasting, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing.

Pramit holds a Master’s degree in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management and a Bachelor’s in Information Technology from the West Bengal University of Technology. He worked in TCS in the banking sector and in a Bangalore-based start-up named Celeriac Technologies as Product Marketing Specialist, before joining the ISB. He had also pursued a research internship from IIM, Kozhikode. Pramit has published two research papers in peer-reviewed journals and has research interests in Quantitative models in Marketing, Choice Modelling, Consumer Analytics, Content and Inbound Marketing, Bottom of Pyramid Marketing and Brand Management. Pramit loves photography, travelling and is an avid football fan. He also has a unique interest in collecting fountain pens.

Sangeetha completed her Master’s degree in Information Management from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. While pursuing her Masters, she had also worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Behavioural Lab at the Robert H. Smith School of Business where she was responsible for end-to-end management of research studies starting from subject pool allocation to generating reports. She started her career in Clifford Chance LLP where she worked for four years at various levels across India, Middle East and Europe in the finance division. At Bharti Institute, she manages administrative execution of project lifecycle of all grants, communicates with stakeholders, organises marquee events, and works in close collaboration with researchers to align internal and external activities. Sangeetha loves to cook, paint and explore new places during her leisure time.

Content Developer

With a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (painting stream) from Panjab University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Animation and Multimedia from Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Mohali, Preeti has worked as a Graphic Designer for 11 years at C-DAC. Her experience incorporated a blend of varied typography, animation, audio, video and graphic designing techniques. She also holds a Master’s degree in English from Panjab University, and had had conducted sessions on multimedia software for international participants under the ITEC/SCAAP scheme of the Ministry of External Affairs. Out of office hours, she is fond of photography and music. She has been a dance and sports enthusiast and have participated in various cultural programmes during her academic journey and also at workplace events.

Junior Data Engineer

Snehal holds a Bachelor’s- Master’s in Science (BS-MS) degree (dual) from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune. In his Master's thesis, he created deep learning algorithms for detecting cervical cancer. Before joining ISB, he got his training as a data scientist at Sabudh Foundation, Mohali, and now aims to build data processing workflows and work on creating meaningful insights from data. He wants to focus on applying algorithmic decision making to help organisations make efficient decisions. His athletic life revolves around playing basketball, strength training and yoga. His research interests include quantitative finance, evolutionary biology and behavioural psychology.

Sridhar Kundu is a PhD in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He is a double post-graduate (Economics and Environmental Economics) and holds the UGC-NET qualification. With over 15 years of experience in research and teaching, Sridhar has worked as a Senior Research Officer at Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability for nearly six years and as an Assistant Professor at Symbiosis Institute of International Business, Pune, for three years. He was also associated with Observer Research Foundation and National Institute of Public Finance and Policy as a researcher, and as faculty at Delhi University. Fiscal policies, poverty, inequality and energy economics are his research interests, while he likes to teach development economics, econometrics and public finance. He has publications in reputed journals and edited book volumes.

Vedarshi holds a Master’s degree in Arts (Economics) from Ashoka University, and a Bachelor’s in Science degree from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He is working in the field of applied microeconomics and development economics and has a keen interest in the areas of agriculture, health, education, and inequality. He looks forward to pursuing a Doctorate degree in Economics and being engaged in an academic career as a Professor of Economics. In his free time, Vedarshi enjoys reading philosophy and pursuing his interests in computer science and astronomy. He is always keen on detailed, intellectual discussions on topics of interests.
