Jency Jacob, Managing Editor of BOOM is a career journalist and has spent over 22 years in some of the top television and print networks in the country. Seven years back, Jency helped set up BOOM's fact checking unit, one of the first newsrooms in the country dedicated towards combatting disinformation and now manages a team of 20 enterprising fact checkers across India, Myanmar and Bangladesh. Through a mix of open source intelligence and ground reports, the team at BOOM are working towards keeping our social media clear of misinformation and communally sensitive disinformation that can result in real-life implications. 

A graduate in Statistics and post graduate diploma in Journalism, Jency is also a regular speaker at various national and international conferences, about the importance of battling misinformation and the media's role in countering them with credible and factual reporting of events.
