Shalini Pandey serves as the Director for Prime Minister Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) under the aegis of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. Based in Delhi, she oversees the Urban Poverty Alleviation Division, managing two flagship schemes: PM SVANidhi and Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM). 

Prior to her current role, Shalini held prominent positions as the Chief Executive Officer for Dehradun, Ambala, and Allahabad Cantonment Boards. She also served as the Deputy Director General in the Ministry of Defence from September 2016 to 2020. 

Shalini represented India as part of the delegation in COP-27 Egypt, focusing on ‘Livelihood Opportunities through Sustainable Lifestyles and Climate Smart Development’ on behalf of the Government of India. 

Her accolades include receiving the ‘National e-Governance Award’ in the category of ‘Excellence in Government Process Re-engineering’ for PMSVANidhi in 2022, as well as the ‘Raksha Mantri Award for Excellence’ in 2017 and 2018 for initiatives supporting differently abled children in Ambala and Prayagraj. 

Furthermore, she initiated the "Gyanodaya" informal school for children of migrant labourers in Allahabad, which has since expanded its presence to various locations, providing educational support for these children in collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
