About Programme

The Faculty Development Program (FDP) at the Indian School of Business aims at the Professional development of faculty members. The various interventions under the FDP program aim at preparing Transformational, Innovative, and Value-led Educators by upskilling today’s educators with the rapid and unprecedented changes in the educational landscape and training them to become academic leaders in their organizations. The certified program in Data Analytics and Market Research is a four-day program that provides rigorous training by the reputed faculty of ISB. This hands-on workshop is designed for faculty members to help them intuitively understand the ML tools by focusing on intuition and outcomes rather than coding.

Access to ZeroCode Learning Platform

As part of the course, participants will get free access to the ZeroCode learning platform* for one year.

We are also extending free access to all the models listed until 30th September 2022, to everyone registered to understand how the four days of Data Analytics and Market Research sessions on Machine learning will be conducted without coding.

*The software is a custom-developed Data Analytics and Market Research suite by the ISB faculty and can run off the browser. There is no installation required for it.

Participants will also get use cases and readings in slides, which can be helpful as teaching aids.

Key Benefits

Programme Overview

Tomorrow's marketing managers require an intuitive understanding and familiarity with various machine learning tools and techniques that have rapidly emerged in the business landscape in the past decade.  The relevance of Machine Learning (ML) tools for managers in their everyday work requires that exposure to ML tools and applications be covered as part of academic business curricula. However, much of the ML's coverage in universities worldwide has happened in specialized courses, particularly at the MS level in 'data science' or 'business analytics' with a computer science bent and often required coding in 'R' or 'Python'. This workshop is designed for faculty members to help them intuitively understand the ML tools by focusing on intuition and outcomes rather than coding.

The idea is to expose faculty members to a set of custom ML tools so that they can teach marketing analytics to 'citizen data scientist' managers who consume the analytics to make better decisions. The "citizen data scientist" will largely rely on "data scientists/analysts" to deployment and deeper insights; however, they still need to guide them and translate business requirements into the language that "data scientist/analysts" can understand easily.

Programme Deliverables

The course is designed to be conducted in 'workshop mode,' i.e., participants will work hands-on with the data using various ML tools and algorithms. The main idea is to introduce to marketing faculty members a set of ML based teaching material which includes [a] custom ML tools that can run off of a browser, [b] hence can easily be scaled from an individual to a classroom or institution level, [c] combined with sample datasets and application oriented use-cases, [d] and readings as well as slides useful as teaching aids.

We will use menu-driven program interfaces to enable students to explore business possibilities with and exploit [basic] capabilities of ML tools regardless of technical background.

Please download the brochure for a detailed session plan.

Prerequisite: Knowledge of basic statistics is sufficient. No programming experience on the part of participants is assumed.

Participants will get a certificate after successfully completing all the sessions.
