Professor Chandan Chowdhury
Practice Professor, Executive Director-Munjal Institute for Global Manufacturing (MIGM), & Punj Lloyd Institute of Infrastructure Management (PLIIM).
Dr. Chowdhury comes with extensive experience of ~ 30 years spanning across the academic as well as the corporate sectors. He has been associated with NITIE ((National Institute of Industrial Engineering) as a Professor, Dean (Academy), Chairman (Board of Research), and Member (Board of Governors) and spent about 10 years before moving to IFS Solutions India Pvt Ltd (a Swedish multinational) initially as a Director and later on as a CEO and Director, wherein he spent a little over 10 years.
Prior to joining ISB, Dr. Chowdhury served Dassault Systèmes, initially as the Managing Director of Dassault Systèmes India and subsequently Vice President (Global Affairs & Business Development). He was instrumental in developing and expanding the company's footprint across several sectors in corporate, government, and academic sectors. Before joining Dassault Systemes, Dr. Chowdhury was associated with IBM as the Country Manager, Software Group, Strategic Accounts.
Dr. Chowdhury did his MS in Mechanical Engineering and has a double Doctorate. He has been the recipient of numerous awards, and his special areas of interest are innovation and ‘Technology-Enabled Business Transformation”. He is passionate about leveraging technology to make the world a better place to live in. Prof. Chowdhury is responsible for identifying research priorities and setting the overall direction of the institute. His special areas of interest are operations and manufacturing management, innovation, and ‘Technology-Enabled Business Transformation’ and smart and sustainable city.
Dr. Pratap Sriram Sundar

Adjunct Professor of Operations Management
Pratap Sriram Sundar holds B. Tech (Mechanical Engineering), M. Tech (Industrial Engineering), and Ph.D (Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University, Boston). Presently, he is the Academic Director and Adjunct Professor of Operations Management at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in the Munjal Institute of Global Manufacturing (MIGM) and Punj Lloyd Institute for Infrastructure Management (PLIIM). He had worked as an assistant professor at NITIE (National Institute of Industrial Engineering), Mumbai for about nine years. After completing his Ph.D, he worked as Customer Advocacy Manager in Paraform, a Silicon Valley company in Santa Clara, CA, and then as Director of Manufacturing in Innovation Sports, Los Angeles, CA, USA for six years before returning to India for good. Later, he offered his training and consulting services through his company Natura Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd. in the fields of industrial engineering, manpower optimization, demand planning, scenario planning, supply chain management, lean systems design, and six-sigma. He was the Assistant Director on the Board of Adithya Automotive Applications Pvt. Ltd., Lucknow (a joint venture of TRF Ltd., Tata Capital Ltd., and Jasper Industries Pvt. Ltd.). Dr. Sundar is a member of the board of management of Lamrin Tech Skills University (LTSU), Jalandhar, Punjab.
Dr. Pratap Sriram Sundar after returning from the US in 2006, has spent his last ten years studying the problems of the Indian manufacturing sector and applied his concepts and scientific tools in real-life situations.
He authored 22 conference papers, 7 journal papers, and 7 book chapters in the books published in the US and UK. He was a member of the Industrial Engineering Honor Society (Alpha Pi Mu) and The Scientific Research Society (Sigma Xi). He received an “Outstanding Scholarly Work” certificate from the Director of LRM (Laboratory for Responsible Manufacturing), Northeastern University, Boston, MA, USA in Apr. 2000. He also received the “Best Team Performer” award from the CEO of Paraform, Inc., in Dec. 2000. He received the best paper award at the ICADT international conference, Lisbon, Portugal in April 2021. He received training in the Theory of Constraints (TOC) from Dr. Eli Goldratt at Boston, and training in Axiomatic Design at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), Boston, and training in the Lean Aircraft Initiative at MIT, Boston, USA. He attended the NSF (National Science Foundation, Washington, DC) Workshop on “Nanotechnology” in Boston, USA.
He visited more than 400 companies and had offered his services to about 50 companies in the last 35 years. He is a fervent explorer of Nature and science. His hobbies are giving special talks on Nature and the insights we can derive to transform our approach to manufacturing and exploring the heavenly skies with his Meade 200LX 10-inch telescope. He has worked on several assignments from Amara Raja Batteries Ltd., Mangal Industries Ltd., Amara Raja Electronics, Silver Linings Storage Solutions, Motherson Automotive Technologies and Engineering (MATE), Calsonic Kansei Motherson (CKM), Signode India, Acme Toolings, Arce Polymers, Thrive Solar and other companies. He also did research in the design of sustainable products and supply chain processes. He is an active adviser to some companies in implementing Industry 4.0 solutions to improve productivity, quality, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and sustainability.
Dr. Yugal Nauhria
Associate Director, Munjal Institute for Global Manufacturing & Punj Lloyd Institute of Infrastructure Management
Dr. Yugal Nauhria has been Associate Director at the Munjal Institute for Global Manufacturing, Indian School of Business, Mohali, since August 2024. He holds a PhD from IIT Delhi and a postgraduate degree in Operations and Human Resource Management from IMT Ghaziabad. Dr. Nauhria was awarded the Administrator’s Gold Medal for outstanding performance among the 1998-2002 Cohort of graduating engineers at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.
Dr. Nauhria has over two decades of professional experience, with distinguished expertise in management consultancy, operations leadership, and strategy implementation across diverse manufacturing and service sectors. At McKinsey & Company, where he served as an advisor and consultant, Dr. Nauhria provided expert client services to prominent manufacturing industries. His work primarily focused on business transformation, EBITDA enhancement, and implementing best practices in operations and supply chain management, alongside spearheading digital transformation initiatives. During his tenure at McKinsey, he was a core member of the McKinsey Capability Centre in the manufacturing domain.
Dr. Nauhria has held leadership positions at AB InBev, Ola Cabs, and Flipkart, where he successfully led strategic initiatives to enhance business opportunities, optimize supply chains, and achieved operational excellence through innovative technologies. Notably, he was pivotal in coordinating efforts, culminating in Mahindra Swaraj Tractors's receiving the prestigious Deming Prize for excellence in total quality management.
Dr. Nauhria ’s academic contributions include three research papers published in the Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management.
