Position details:

ISB is looking for candidates with strong analytical and quantitative capabilities. We seek applications from motivated individuals with a strong academic background to work as Research Associates at ISB. Research Associates (RA) generally go on to pursue Ph.D. in internationally renowned business schools after working at ISB for 1-2 years.

There is a Research Associate position available in the Financial Data Analysis Area with Professor Karthik Balakrishnan (Indian School of Business/Rice University).

The candidate will assist the faculty in their ongoing research work which includes analyzing financial data from company reports using statistical tools. The position may also involve obtaining and analyzing unstructured data such as text. The position is best suited for a candidate with an interest in pursuing a PhD down the line.
 

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Master’s level degree (IISc, ISI, DSE, MSE or comparable institutions in India and abroad) or bachelor level (IIT, BITS, NIT or comparable institutions in India and abroad) with good academic record in mathematics, statistics, economics, accounting or computer science. Other quantitative fields may also apply.

Familiarity with programming languages such as Stata, Python and R is a requirement.

Consistently high CGPA, evidence of academic excellence.

The candidate must have high standards in terms of quality of work, attention to detail and absolute commitment to task completion.
