Brief Introduction:

Thomas Schmidheiny Centre for Family Enterprise at the Indian School of Business seeks to advance real-world and academic knowledge of family business. The Centre wants to recruit promising young researchers. We seek applications from motivated individuals with a strong academic background to work as Researchers at the Centre.

Position details:

• The Centre is looking for bright and motivated fresh PhDs or PhD candidates in final years of their thesis in social science disciplines such as Economics, sociology, psychology, anthropology, law, and management, with strong interest in academic research as a career.

·       They will be primarily required to work on research projects with the Executive Director, Academic Director, other faculty and scholars associated with the Centre.

·       They will be required to own research projects and drive various aspects of the research process, including literature review, data collection, data analytics, preparing presentations, writing, formatting academic papers, and submitting to conferences and journals.

·       There will be opportunities to co-author papers for publication in top tier journals.

·       They will be required to develop and publish teaching cases and notes, white papers, contribute to the Family Enterprise Quarterly (the quarterly magazine published by the Centre), and work on qualitative research projects as well.

·      They will be required to guide research associates working on different projects.

·       They will assist the Centre in organizing its flagship biennial conferences, workshops, and training programs.

·       They may occasionally be asked to assist with administrative work at the Centre.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• A PhD degree from top tier Institutions in India or abroad.

·       Non-PhDs with five (5) years of prior, relevant work / research experience in research institutions and thinktanks will also be considered if the candidate is looking for a long-term career in academic research.

·       Evidence of academic excellence

• Excellent analytical, computing, communication and writing skills
• In-depth understanding of survey design, including questionnaire development, sampling methods, and data collection techniques. Proven experience in analyzing survey responses using advanced statistical methods and software.
• Proficiency/Exposure in the use of software packages such as SAS, STATA, R, Python, MAXQDA, and Atlas will be preferred. 

·       Prior experience in authoring research papers, reports, writing grant proposals, case studies among others will be considered favourably.

·       The candidate must have high standards in terms of quality of work, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and absolute commitment to task completion.
