MIHM brought together policymakers, insurance companies, industry and academics to discuss the ‘Business implication of Ayushman Bharat – Does good health and good business go hand in hand?’. The discussion was moderated by Professor Sisir Debnath, Associate Professor in Economics and Public Policy, ISB. The panellists at the discussion were:

Catalyst 2018

Catalyst, a professional healthcare mixer, was organised at ISB’s Hyderabad campus in August 2018 to facilitate theme-based discussion between students, alumni and industry leaders. Dr Krishna Ella, Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Biotech, delivered the keynote and spoke about the opportunity and excitement in the Indian healthcare industry, in particular, the pharma industry. 

Dr Ella’s talk was followed by theme-based dinner table discussions with an intention of exposing students to the latest trends and issues of the healthcare industry with an objective of make them ‘industry-ready’. Topics such as digital health, big data and health analytics, evidence-based health, equitable health, home care, trends and issues concerning the pharmaceutical industry were discussed.  As experts, senior alumni and industry leaders attended the event. These included Dr Mahesh Joshi, CEO, Apollo Telemedicine (PGPMAX Founding Class); Sireesha Yadlapalli, Director, United States Pharmacopia (PGP Co08);  Ritesh Dogra, Managing Partner, Medium Healthcare Consulting (PGP Co09); Vikram Thaploo, CEO Apollo Telehealth services (AMPH Co18); Dr Satish G Reddy, Managing Director, Aster Prime Hospitals (AMPH Co18); Rishi Raj, Director, Strategy and Corporate Development, Max India; Subhankar Chatterji, Head, Pricing Strategy, Parkway Pantai India; Deepak Sapra, Vice President and Global Head of Business (CPS), Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, interacting with the students.

This event was done in partnership with TiE Chandigarh and News 18. It helped the entrepreneurs to learn about innovation and opportunities in the healthcare industry as they evaluate business ideas. The panellists included Dr PJ Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of Tynor India; Dr Ritu Mittal Garg, Zonal Director of Fortis Memorial Research Institute (PGP alumna); Dr Amit Jotwani, Co-Founder and Chief of Medical Services at Onco.com (Founding Class of AMPH); and Professor Sarang Deo, Executive Director of MIHM. The panel discussion was moderated by Jyoti Kamal, Senior Editor, TV18 Broadcast.

There was a panel discussion during the workshop on ‘Is Healthcare Analytics a mirage or pixie dust?’ Professor Sarang Deo, Executive Director – MIHM, moderated the session with Dr Vipin Das, Dr Ravi Chawla and Dinesh Pillaipakkamantt as panellists.
